Samsung had showcased its first foldable screen smartphone, the aptly named Galaxy Fold, during its Unpacked 2019 press event in February this year. Later, just ahead of the phone’s launch in April, multiple Galaxy Fold review units faced problems with the screen and Samsung had to postpone the launch date.
Now, it is being reported that the Galaxy Fold could be launched any week now. Along with the Galaxy Fold, the Galaxy Fold 5G could be launched, too. We’ve found that Samsung has managed to get the necessary FCC (Federal Communications Commission) certification for the Galaxy Fold 5G.
FCC Certification Brings Galaxy Fold 5G Closer To Its Launch
Samsung applied for the Galaxy Fold 5G’s (SM-F907B) certification on April 25, 2019, and it received the certification on June 3, 2019. This means that the 5G variant of the Samsung Galaxy Fold is a lot closer to its launch than we actually thought. Thanks to the foldable phone’s FCC certification as well as its Bluetooth and Wi-Fi certification (as reported by SamMobile last week), it appears that both 4G LTE and 5G variants of the Galaxy Fold will soon be launched. A few days ago, a Samsung executive had revealed that the company had managed to iron out most (if not all) of the Galaxy Fold’s display and build quality issues and that the phone is closer to the launch.
Both 4G and 5G variants of the Galaxy Fold have similar features and specifications, except connectivity and battery capacity. The 4G variant has dual-SIM card (nano SIM + eSIM) and a 4380mAh battery, while the 5G variant has a single SIM card slot and a slightly smaller 4235mAh battery. Both phones have 7.3-inch Full HD+ Dynamic AMOLED inwards foldable screen on the inside and a 4.6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED screen on the outside. Both screens are capable of HDR10+ video playback. They run Android 9 Pie-based One UI, use the Snapdragon 855 processor, 12GB RAM, 512GB storage, and stereo speakers.
Conclusion :- As Wi-Fi certifications is one of the final steps, Samsung may be planning to release the Galaxy A90 soon. This device will be a premium smartphone in the Galaxy A series and will be priced accordingly.
