Android 13-based One UI 5.0 skin beta update leak reveals UI changes, new features, and animations. The update brings changes to the notifications panel, keyboard, permission pop-up, security, and privacy. 9to5Google has unearthed the details surrounding the upcoming Samsung custom skin on one of the Samsung Galaxy S22-series smartphones. This comes just days after Sammobile reported that the One UI 5.0 beta update will start(rolling out to compatible devices in the third week of July). Let’s take a look at what the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 skin beta update has in store for us.

Android 13-based One UI 5.0 skin beta update

Starting with the notification centre, it looks bigger, and the background’s opacity on the OneUI 5 seems slightly different than One UI 4.0. It now has an OCR (Optical Character Recognition) feature that detects text from images and can easily be copy-pasted.  This could help with speedier updates as the company would have fewer things to change over stock Android. But as the new report notes, there’s also a possibility that this build on One UI 5.0 has yet to implement the custom permission dialog box. After all, Samsung is known for some heavy customization of Android.

Screenshots show Samsung is planning to introduce two new gestures in One UI 5 for improved multitasking: Swipe for split screen and Swipe for pop-up view. The former could be triggered by swiping up with two fingers from the bottom of the screen to open the split-screen view. As for the gesture to open an app in pop-up view, it is currently a part of a Good Lock module. Both gestures should be a part of One UI Labs in One UI 5.

One UI 5.0 also shows currently active apps in the quick settings area. It also brings collaboration to Samsung Notes. According to the leaked screenshot, you can share your notes with up to 100 other users, and they can all see live changes instantly.

The security and privacy hub is also set to get some tweaks. It is similar to the Privacy Dashboard feature found in Pixel phones. In the 5.0 update, there is nothing new, except that Samsung is making all the options and settings more accessible and easier to find. The update also introduces many multitasking gestures in the Labs sections.
