Vivo is reportedly gearing up to launch a new foldable smartphone, called Vivo X Fold S. The smartphone is expected to arrive as an upgraded version of the Vivo X Fold, which was launched back in April 2022. Introduced as X Fold. The company’s first foldable and will reportedly be succeeded by the upcoming Vivo X Fold S.
Tipster Digital Chat Station, which has a reputation for accurate leaks, revealed that the foldable phone will launch in China very soon. The tipster also revealed some key specifications of the upcoming foldable phone. Let’s take a look at the Vivo X Fold S specifications, features and other details known so far.
Vivo X Fold S Specifications
Vivo X Fold sports an 8.03-inch Samsung E5 inward folding display with 2K+ (1,916×2,160 pixels) resolution and 4:3.55 aspect ratio. The primary display supports 120Hz refresh rate and is protected by Ultra-Touch Glass (UTG). Apart from this, there is a 6.53-inch cover display which is also a Samsung E5 panel, with 1,080×2,520 pixel resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.
The Vivo X Fold is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, paired with 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The device will feature a quad-camera setup with 50MP main camera, 48MP ultrawide camera, 12MP telephoto camera and 8MP periscope camera. It will have a 16MP front camera.
The new foldable phone will pack a slightly bigger battery as well. According to Digital Chat Station, the X Fold S will pack a 4,700mAh battery, while the predecessor model had a 4,600mAh battery. The X Fold S will also come with support for fast charging. The tipster noted that the S variant of the Vivo foldable phone will support 80W fast charging.
